 On Tuesday night, Sept. 26, the Hurricane crowd tried their best to cheer their volleyball team to victory; however, the Lady Tigers could not match the great play of the league-leading Snow Canyon Warriors.
On Tuesday night,Sept. 26,the Hurricane crowd tried their best to cheer their volleyball team to victory;however,the Lady Tigers could not match the great play of the league-leading Snow Canyon Warriors.Hurricane,(3 –2),had a difficult time gaining any momentum and failed to capitalize on the few mistakes that the Lady Warriors made and dropped the match in straight sets,25 –21,25 –16,25 –22. “We made some mistakes in the end of each set,things that we needed to capitalize on,”Coach McKeehan said after the game. “We had a couple of good sets we put in the net,and a couple of serves that we should have let go out. I also expect perfection from service and we didn’t get it done.” Hurricane was coming off a big win last Thursday against Dixie but met their match with the Warriors,who have yet to lose a region game this year. Coach McKeehan was clearly disappointed but realizes the season is far from over. “We just need to stay up and keep our heads up. We got beat by a great team tonight. We are a good team too,but they got the best of us tonight. Snow Canyon,(5-0),was led by junior Liz McArthur who had 11 kills,while both Anna Nostrant and Angela Walters chipped in with seven kills apiece. With no game on Thursday,the Tigers will get a week of rest and will resume play with a match at Canyon View. In their previous meeting this season,Hurricane won the match convincingly three sets to none. The Tiger seniors once again led their team tonight and kept the team in the match. Karrisa Law led the way with six kills and three aces,while Erica Shields contributed four kills and two aces of her own. Brandi Barrett was the night’s master of the net by racking up seven blocks. The Lady Tigers look forward to taking advantage of this break in play to make some adjustments before they begin the second half of region play. Bookmark & Share              |
