1203_WilliamMcKinzie-1William Milo “Bill” McKinzie, 65, a resident of St. George passed away Thursday, July 23, 2009 at Dixie Medical Center in St. George , Utah .

Bill was born on September 3, 1943 at home in St. Louis , Missouri , to William and Juanita Taylor McKinzie. In 1947 the family moved to California where he attended and graduated from Azusa High School in June 1961.

In October, 1961 Bill joined the Army and was stationed in Germany as a communications specialist until October, 1964.

Once back from the service, Bill settled in Covina , California where he married and was blessed with the birth of his two sons, Christopher and Brian.

Bill was working as the Director of Materials at Taylor Dunn when he met Barbara L. Wright. They were married on April 30, 1988 and he was again blessed to add step-children, Christy, Terry Lynn and Rusty to his family.

In April 1989, Bill and Barbara moved to Beaver, Utah where they owned and operated a KOA campground. They spent the next sixteen years happily working side by side.

Upon retiring in 2005, Bill and Barbara moved their home to St. George , Utah where they spent the last four years enjoying each others company and their retirement.

Bill was preceded in death by his loving parents William and Juanita Taylor McKinzie.

Surviving family include his loving wife Barbara McKinzie; sister Dorothy McKinzie Norton; children, Christopher William McKinzie and wife Robin, Brian Frank McKinzie; step-daughters, Christy McPherson and husband Bart, Terry Lynn Knecht; step-son, Russell Van Horn; grandchildren, Carson and Kate McKinzie, Casey and Carly McPherson, Jenny Lynn Knecht and Alec Emick, James Halink

Bill’s family loved him very much during his life and will love and miss him always. At his request, there will be no services held.
