Dennis and Leslie Banks are please to announce the marriage of their daughter, Mary Ann, to Jacob Bulloch, son of Russ and Tammy Bulloch. Mary Ann and Jacob will be married on Saturday, May 10, 2008 in the St. George LDS Temple.

Campos Adams
Alexander and Lynne Campos, of La Verkin, are pleased to announce the marriage of their son, Robert Austin Campos to Amanda Kathleen Adams, of Bountiful Utah. Amanda is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Roger and Pat Adams and Mr. and Mrs. Dean and Kathleen Collinwood. The couple will be married May 15, 2008 in the Salt Lake Temple. An open house will be held Saturday, May 10 from 6:30 to 8: 30 p.m. at the La Verkin 5th ward chapel, located at 76 S. 300 West in La Verkin. After their honeymoon in Cancun Mexico the newlyweds will reside in Logan Utah.

Audrie Leona Wallace
Audrie Leona Wallace celebrated her first birthday May 4. Happy first birthday Baby Boo! What a joy this past year has been! We all love you more than you could ever know! Proud parents are Amanda and Robert Wallace. Grandparents are Dave and Alice Mortensen of Apple Valley, and Julie Allen of St. George. Audrie also has five great grandparents and 14 aunts and uncles who also want to wish her a happy birthday.

McQuade Neil Adams celebrated his first birthday April 15. His parents are Brandon and Jessie Adams of Hurricane and his grandparents are Neil and Wendy Adams of Cedar City and Dale and Suzanne Cornelius also of Cedar City. Happy first birthday with lots of love.

Rolin and Velva Christensen celebrate 62 years of marriage May 7. They are from Escalante and Panguitch and have 6 children.

Sakira Howard
Sakira Howard surprised us by her 3 week early birth and was born on April 23, 2008 at 10:20 a.m. She weighed 5 lbs 15 oz, and was 17 1/2 inches long. She is the daughter of Dave and Shelly Howard of La Verkin, and has a proud big sister Kiana. Grandparents are Alan and Sandra Howard of Leeds, Richard and Karla Clark of Beryl and the late Steven Anzalone of Beryl.

Gertrude Mackinder
Gertrude Mackinder passed away May 1, 2008 in Cedar City. She was born in Chillicothe, Mo. Sept. 9, 1912.
She married Roy Keith Mackinder. Gert loved life to the max.
She played the organ at night to allow the music to waft over the moonlight soft air.
She loved people, animals and fun. Gert and Mac loved Las Vegas – the glitz, glitter and excitement.
Her later years were spent in making her property to look like a park by planting over 150 trees. It was her private paradise.
Her mantra was “Be happy even in the face of adversity.”
A viewing for Gert was Sunday, May 4 at the Swindlehurst Funeral Home, 2113 N. Main St. in Cedar City.
Graveside services were Monday, May 5 in the Parowan City Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Swindlehurst Funeral Home. Online condolences may be sent at www.swindlehurstfuneralhome.com.

Joyce Marie Newcomb
Joyce Marie Newcomb lost her courageous battle with long term illness April 28, 2008 in her home in Cedar City, Utah. She was surrounded by those who loved her most.
Joyce was born to Hazel and Milford "John" Prine on Aug. 19, 1958 in Las Vegas, Nev. She was a 40 year resident of Las Vegas and attended Rancho High School.
Joyce was married to the love of her life, Michael F. Newcomb, for 34 amazing years. Joyce and Mike moved to Cedar City in 1999 to enjoy the simple things in life. She adored time with her husband and her girls.
After moving to Cedar City, Joyce was able to enjoy camping, watching the deer, picnics in the canyon, and long rides in the country. She was a great animal lover and cherished her pets dearly.
She is proceeded in death by her father, Milford "John" Prine. She is survived by her husband Mike, daughters Michelle & Heather, mother Hazel Prine, brothers John and Charlie Prine, sisters Judy Powell, Ruth Hovis, Jody Scott and Debra Carson and many family and friends.
Joyce touched many lives and will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
A brief ceremony will be at 11 a.m., May 10 at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Avenue in Las Vegas. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Dialysis Research Foundation in Cedar City on Joyce's behalf. Arrangements were entrusted to Swindlehurst Funeral Home, Cedar City, Utah.
